[Tonight's video finds a masked, red-headed girl in the freezing cold. She's on what looks like a ferry (and it is; she decided to pay up to go to this Pallet Town or whatever, as it was offered!) and it's snowing.

She isn't happy. The only thing that fits this weather is an incredibly heavy jacket she got as part of her welcome package. It pretty much looks like an old woman's, but it's warmer than what she's wearing underneath.

What words of wisdom will a Prosecutor of the Church of Areulla share with us tonight?]

That old man refused to answer my questions unless they were about a beast I found floating around me, so I am going to politely request your assistance. It would a favor to the Church if you would help me.

["The Church" means nothing here, but she might as well see if it has its uses.]

Is it always this cold here and, if so, how long does it stay? I would like to know how many others are here as well, and if there is someone named Caius among them. I am searching for him and his friends, as they have something very... precious to me.

[She pauses to tug the coat closer, never mind that it can't exactly get closer to her.]

It's nice to meet you, Miss Megido, but would you mind me asking if you're hard of hearing? I know very well the place I'm in. The map provided with this-- bag told me so, as well as the shipmaster of this ferry. I asked if it was always so cold here.

[...ugh, the church. Well, Prosecutor isn't a title he's familiar with so it's unlikely that she's from a direct variant on his world, but there is a familiar feeling of the sort of distaste that needs to be covered up by pleasantries... enough to make him go for voice instead of video, anyway.]

There's no Church here that I know of, I'm afraid, nor anything resembling organized religion that I can tell. If anyone you know is here, they will likely contact you before too long.

As for the temperature... well, if the climate is what I'm presuming it to be, it should let up in about three to four months, but it's certainly going to get worse before it gets better.

The only church I know of here is the church of the almighty Legendary 'mons.

Your information is appreciated. [She's half content about being right about the Church not having power here-- and half upset about it. She'll have to gather it through other means.] The weather can't be helped, although I wish it would stop snowing how terrible awful sticking to this coat and not doing anything useful, but I will hope it passes sooner than that.

much warmer than here, in the first place. It's almost unnoticeable when winter shifts to spring. Rommy purses her lips, because impudence isn't taken lightly.]

I suppose I will just have to find something to keep myself warm in, aside from this clothing provided. [Maybe another beast.] Are there beasts that give off a natural warmth here?

There's a chance it will, I suppose. Winter's been somewhat fickle this year, so it may very well be dry the rest of the season... but it may also end up being a very bad winter. It's certainly better than it was mid-December, I can say that much...

[She will hope that it stays dry. Snow's no fun.]

It is certainly unfit for travel. Are there people foolhardy enough to attempt it?

Yeah, there's fire-type Pokemon. I can't think of any that are in the wild in the place everybody arrives in, though. Could be wrong.

Might wanna get to a town ASAP and mail-order a fire Pokemon egg or something.

Pokemon are really the only other mode, and they're slightly faster, yes.

They would have to be big then... [...Her Elgyem is out of the question, for the moment. Until she figures out how long he can carrying her psychically.] What manner of beast would you recommend?

Probably best to get the main three transports: one pokemon capable of fly, one of surf, and one that is large enough to ride on over land.
